Frequently Asked Questions

    • Unfortunately we do not accept walk-ins

    • In order to see a specialist a referral is required from another healthcare physician

    • You can request a referral from your Family Physician or other primary healthcare provider

    • After we receive a referral from your family physician or other healthcare provider, we will contact you with appointment details. Due to the high volume of referrals that we receive, please be aware that it may take some time to process the referral. We appreciate your patience.

    • All referrals are triaged according to the level of clinical urgency. We attempt to see everyone as soon as possible.

    • After your appointment is booked, our team will provide instructions for any required bloodwork, imaging, or other diagnostic tests. Completing these in advance helps ensure your visit is thorough and well prepared.

    • All new patients are also asked to complete a new patient questionnaire online. This allows Dr. Dhanjani to review your medical history and concerns ahead of time, so your appointment can be focused on your care and treatment plan.

    • Please always bring a current medication list and any relevant collateral health information to every appointment

    • Patients are encouraged to bring a support person (family member or friend) to help with their medical history and decision-making

  • Wait times vary based on the clinical urgency of your referral:

    • Urgent Referrals: We prioritize these cases and aim to schedule them as soon as possible.

    • Non-Urgent Referrals: Due to high demand, the current wait time for elective or routine consultations is approximately 6 to 12 months.

Once your referral has been reviewed and triaged by our medical team, we will contact you directly with a scheduled date or an estimated timeframe.

  • If Your Condition Changes While Waiting

Our wait times are based on the clinical information provided by your referring physician at the time of your initial referral.

If your symptoms worsen or your condition changes significantly while you are waiting for your appointment:

        •    Contact your referring physician or primary care provider. They are responsible for your care until you are seen by our specialists.

        •    Request a Triage Update. If your physician determines your case has become more urgent, they must send an updated referral letter to our office.

        •    Medical Emergencies: If you experience a medical emergency, please visit your nearest emergency department or call emergency services immediately.

  • Cancellation and No-Show Policy

To ensure we can provide timely care to all patients, we require a minimum of two business days’ notice for all cancellations or rescheduling requests.

        •    Standard Appointments: Cancellations with less than two business days' notice or missed appointments (no-shows) will be subject to a $90 fee.

        •    Rebooking: Due to high demand, missed or late-canceled appointments are not guaranteed a new time slot. Rebooking is at the sole discretion of the clinic, based on clinical urgency and any documented extenuating circumstances.

    Vasectomy Procedure Policy

The demand for vasectomy procedures is exceptionally high. Because these appointments require a longer time block:

        •    Notice Period: We require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for any cancellation or rescheduling.

        •    Non-Rebooking Policy: If a vasectomy appointment is canceled with less than 72 hours' notice, or if you do not attend the scheduled appointment, you will not be rebooked at this clinic

  • Prescription Renewals

To ensure patient safety and proper monitoring, prescriptions should ideally be renewed during a scheduled appointment.

    • The Process: We ask that you monitor your medications and request renewals during your follow-up visits. If you require a renewal between appointments, please ask your pharmacist to fax a request to our office.

    • Requirements: We only renew medications that were originally prescribed by this clinic and only for patients who are maintaining their recommended follow-up schedule. If you have not been seen recently, a renewal may be denied until an appointment is completed

    • Fees: Prescription renewals requested via phone or fax (without a medical visit) are not covered by OHIP. A $25.00 administrative fee applies to each request.

    • Primary Care: For all other chronic medications or new health concerns, please consult your family physician

    • If you are experiencing significant or intolerable side effects, please contact our office to schedule an appointment to discuss this

    • If the side effects are severe, please proceed to the nearest Emergency Room for urgent care

    • Unfortunately, we cannot provide emergency care over the phone or in the office.

    • If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 and/or proceed to your nearest emergency department to be assessed
